Privacy Policy

WebAesthetics is a free field guide to web design aesthetics. It doesn't require an account, doesn't run ads, and doesn't use third-party analytics or trackers. This page explains the little bit of data that does pass through the site.

Information we collect

The site itself keeps nothing about you. Every request does pass through the network edge that sits in front of it, and that edge keeps a record of each one:

• the time, the hostname, the page asked for (with anything in the address that looks like a password or token hidden), how the site answered, how long it took, and how big the answer was;
• your network (IP) address and the country Cloudflare places it in;
• your browser's description of itself (its user-agent string) and the page that linked you here (the referrer), if any.

That record is kept in full for 30 days. After that only daily totals remain: visits, page views, top pages, referrers, and countries. It's used only to run and protect the site, such as spotting attacks and banning the addresses they come from. It's never sold, never shared, and never used to rank or profile visitors.

What we don't collect

• No accounts, sign-ups, or passwords. There's nothing to create.
• No forms, so no names, emails, or messages are submitted to us through the site itself.
• No payment information is collected or processed by WebAesthetics.
• No third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or cross-site trackers of any kind.
• No cookies. The site doesn't set any.

Local storage

Your browser's dark/light mode choice is saved locally on your own device (via localStorage), so it's remembered on your next visit. That preference never leaves your browser. It isn't sent to us or shared with anyone.

Third-party links

The site links out to a few external places: the "Buy me a coffee" support page and the sibling sites in the WebAesthetics network (InteriorAesthetics, FashionAesthetics, GameAesthetics). If you follow one of those links, you're on a different site with its own privacy practices, which we don't control.

Children's privacy

WebAesthetics isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices

We don't run accounts, so most standard "manage your data" options don't apply: there's no profile to edit or delete. If you have a question about the request records described above, contact us using the email below and we'll do our best to help.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
